Wow - the power of Hank! Woot!
Hey, could someone be kind enough to e-mail me the next question, since I'll be at work when it gets posted on the plaza? To give me something to while away the boring workday? My e-mail is in my profile here... Thanks!

New questions aren't up yet, must be nearly 12 hours late by now.
Anyways, what I mean to say is that I won't be able to get online tomorrow, so good luck with the next question and I'll catch up with you all some time on Wednesday.

Phil posted this morning: both answers were right.
Minas Tirith Question I: With whom would negotiation never be held? Hank Question I: Through where could children no longer pass?

I honestly have no idea. maybe it has something to do with the caves where the people of rohan and gondor flee to, that children couldn't be send there anymore. maybe it's something in the shire, that was forbidden for children, while saruman was there. that's the best I can think of and it sucks, I know. I'l think about it, maybe I'll get some smarter ideas.

Seems an odd question. I thought about the caves as well. Will go and check my books now I've finished my job form.

Mebbe its the front gate of Minas Tirith at some point, you know, when Pippin and Bergil are out there, can't remember if Bergil says something about the wains not being allowed back, or them looking like kids not being allowed out after sunset. Something like that.

Ducky's right:
‘Before long they found themselves in a throng going towards the Great Gate. There Pippin went up much in the esteem of Bergil, for when he spoke his name and the pass-word the guard saluted him and let him pass through; and what was more, he allowed him to take his companion with him.
‘That is good!’ said Bergil. ‘We boys are no longer allowed to pass the Gate without an elder. Now we shall see better.’ RotK, Minas Tirith
Good thinking!

right as rain and twice as nice
Enneleyn: I have failed you, and forever will the shame hang over the heads of me and my living room furniture for 9 generations. Your profile says your email address is hidden. I tried sending the questions to that but apparently it's not actually a real email address, which implies that either you don't exist or you have set me on a suicide mission through an unending gauntlet of lies and deceit. Probably both are true, but hopefully gleefully delighting over the deathtrap you weaved around my poor eager self was enough entertainment to get you through the boring workday.

MT's might be the Noldor, who wouldn't negotiate with Morgoth (or maybe the answer is Morgoth, since the the Noldor wouldn't negotiate with him? I don't know, it kind of goes either way):
"For vengeance and redress of their loss the Noldor came. Yet all the more sure shall they be as allies against Morgoth, with whom it is not now to be thought that they shall ever make treaty." - The Silmarillion, Of The Noldor in Beleriand
and then if we need this bit:
Main Entry: treaty Part of Speech: noun Definition: agreement Synonyms: accord, alliance, arrangement, bargain, bond, cartel, charter, compact, concord, concordat, contract, convention, covenant, deal, entente, league, negotiation, pact, reconciliation, sanction, settlement, understanding
