Well, we have rotten luck against Mordor in our last match. But let's look on the bright side. Better we waste it at the begining of season then end. We'll have opportunity for vengance in playoff. ;D As for now new match is in front of us so let's go there and make parquet of these trees. *g* As for the color for this match what do you think of purple? First question guys:
What is worse in the mountains at night?
Answer: Thunder and lightning
"More terrible still are thunder and lightning in the mountains at night, when storms come up from East and West and make war. The lightning splinters on the peaks, and rocks shiver, and great crashes split the air and go rolling and tumbling into every cave and hollow; and the darkness is filled with overwhelming noise and sudden light." {The Hobbit; Over Hill and Under Hill}

That looks pretty much crystal clear to me for being correct.

I've been looking for a possible answer to Fangorn's question in case there's a chance to steal... okay, so I started looking very quickly and then wound up actually beginning to re-read Fellowship entirely since I haven't in a while... anyway, I haven't found it anywhere in the first quarter of Fellowship. Still reading.

Got that question right, yay! Next question is up...
Anor Malthen Q2: Who sought the friendship of those they hated?
|

What do you think of this?
Answer: Morgoth
Now in his heart Melkor most hated the Eldar, both because they were fair and joyful and because in them he saw the reason for the arising of the Valar, and his own downfall. Therefore all the more did he feign love for them and seek their friendship... - Sillmarilion, Of Feanor and unchaining of Melkor
Quote fits in but what bothers me is that question says Who seek friendship of those they hated indicating plural not singular.

Your answer is the correct one, Haka.
As to your query, I took this from Dictionary.com they Used to refer to the one previously mentioned or implied, especially as a substitute for generic he: Every person has rights under the law, but they don't always know them

I agree with that answer. And seeing the explanation that Ammy included from Dictionary.com, we can include that in at the end should it be necessary (just a thought...though we don't 'have' to do it).

Perfect quote. I admit, like Hakatri mentioned, it was the 'they' that was throwing me completely off.

Here is our third question:
Anor Malthen: Who was displeased about a hole?
This is what I found so far:
Answer: Smaug
"There was a breath of strange air in his cave. Could there be a draught from that little hole? He had never felt quite happy about it, though was so small..." - Hobbit, Inside information

We got that one right! Now, next question:
What was too firmly established in the minds of youths for them to believe otherwise?
I'm not 100% positive about this, but here's a possible answer: The legend of Bilbo's wealth
"'...And in the middle of it all Mr. Bilbo comes up the Hill with a pony and some mighty big bags and a couple of chests. I don't doubt they were mostly full of treasure he had picked up in foreign parts, where there be mountains of gold, they say; but there wasn't enough to fill tunnels.' ... But the Gaffer did not convince his audience. The legend of Bilbo's wealth was now too firmly fixed in the minds of the younger generation of hobbits." {LotR, The Fellowship of the Ring, A Long-Expected Party}
