and for the people with a lot of ambition among us, if you reach a 1000 post, you'll get the rank of eru. but if you start spamming a bit too much, I'll start deleting posts, I don't want my computer to take forever with loading a page, simply because some people want to be eru.

Ducky's answer sounds reasonable to me. As for steal potential, this came to mind:
The songs of the deeds of the Noldor "But at that last word of Fëanor: that at least the Noldor should do deeds to live in song for ever, he [Manwë] raised his head, as one that hears a voice far off, and he said: 'So shall it be! Dear-bought those songs shall be accounted, and yet shall be well-bought. For the price could be no other.'" The Sil, Of the Sun and the Moon
Or perhaps something to do with mithril? Or a battle?

Double-post - Elerina & Heley, do we need a reference for the thesaurus quote? Phil seemed to think so in our last match when we posted a definition un-referenced.

Nah, I like your quoted one elarith, if they don't post it. Speaking of, whose turn is it to post ours?

Hmm, I'd always post with a reference if I had one, just to be on the safe side.
Great work guys, the power of Hank can not be undone!

the reference ( if I understand the word correct) is www.thesaurus.com, you always have to mention that in your post. btw, NEVER FORGET YOUR SOURCE! it will cost us all the points. just thought I'd mention it and make it clear so that no one forgets it. that will prevent you from having to make clarification points (like I have to do once in a while) kingo, considering you found the answer you can post, but we still have quite a lot of time, right? just don't forget the thesaurus entry btw, does everybody understand the procedure for stealing a question now. if you don't, yell at me here or send me an email and I will explain it again.

Here's Lorien's answer - I'm not convinced about it. Another chance to steal?
Butterbur paying for Bill the pony and Merry's lost ponies?
- Bill Ferny's price was twelve silver pennies; and that was indeed at least three times the pony's value in those parts. It proved to be a bony, underfed, and dispirited animal; but it did not look like dying just yet. Mr. Butterbur paid for it himself, and offered Merry another eighteen pence as some compensation for the lost animals. He was an honest man, and well-off as things were reckoned in Bree; but thirty silver pennies was a sore blow to him, and being cheated by Bill Ferny made it harder to bear. (...)
- It turned out later that only one horse had been actually stolen. The others had been driven off, or had bolted in terror, and were found wandering in different corners of the Bree-land. Merry's ponies had escaped altogether, and eventually (having a good deal of sense) they made their way to the Downs in search of Fatty Lumpkin. So they came under the care of Tom Bombadil for a while, and were well-off. But when news of the events at Bree came to Tom's ears, he sent them to Mr. Butterbur, who thus got five good beasts at a very fair price. – (FotR, A Knife in the Dark)

Glarrglefarrgle... Lorien got away with it - I think the Hobbitses have been rather lenient with them there. And the actual quote and answer they were looking for was our steal. D'oh!
Scores are level. Next questions:
Lothlorien Q2: What display came in strength whilst power lay hidden still? Team Hank Q2: What tale was oft-repeated in circular fashion?
Deadline is 3.29 am PT on 27th.

Hmm, I suggest that in the future if we have all okayed the steal answer, if you don't agree with their answer post the steal if the deadline is approaching- we've got nothing to lose by it, and no-one is going to complain at you if it's a chance for extra points!
Ela, thanks for posting the questions and the deadline!
I have vague ideas for our question, but I've yet to look them up and since I've got a streaming cold don't expect too much from me! *g*
