Tie breaker!
According to who was a course of action much like a youngster brandishing a flimsy weapon? Deadline: Sun 9:50pm GMT / 1:50pm PT / 4:50pm DT (Ducky time).
Hmm... Denethor? Sam? Not got a clue really, but I'll start flicking.

Went flicking for Denethor and came across this, for Imrahil:
'And when they had reckoned up all their strength and taken thought for the journeys they should make and the roads they should choose, Imrahil suddenly laughed aloud. "Surely," he cried, "this is the greatest jest in all the history of Gondor: that we should ride with seven thousands, scarce as many as the vanguard of its army in the days of its power, to assail the mountains and the impenetrable gate of the Black Land! So might a child threaten a mail-clad knight with a bow of string and green willow!"' RotK, The Last Debate

Did you send it in? Am I allowed to send it in if I'm not a team captain? I don't really know...Mordor has already sent one in, does that make it worthless...
I won't send it in, since there are 24 hours...*shrugs*

Will send it now. I guess anyone can - I think I did in the Rivendell match because no one else was about and the deadline was pressing.
And just because Mordor sent theirs in after a few hours doesn't make our bid worthless - they can't say that the first to send in the answer wins because of all the different time zones and such, so if both teams submit an answer and both are right (or both wrong) there's another tiebreaker.

That's what I thought, but paranoia will do strange things to a person. Anyway, here's the new question:
What sandy place contained the fallen of another land?
Sandy? Sandy? Somewhere out in front of Angband, maybe?

Well done for the last question! OK, I'm back now, and should stay back until the end of the match unless those pesky minions keep on getting the same answer *g* I'll check out Ducky's suggestion when I'm done with urgent mod-type stuff.

There was a sand pit where the dead Men from the battle in 'The Scouring of the Shire' where buried:
"At last it was all over. Nearly seventy of the ruffians lay dead on the field, and a dozen were prisoners. Nineteen hobbits were killed, and some thirty were wounded. The dead ruffians were laden on waggons and hauled off to an old sand-pit nearby and there buried: in the Battle Pit,as it was afterwards called." RotK, The Scouring of the Shire
Of course we'd have to prove that the ruffians were people from outside the Shire so it's not an exact fit. Will keep thinking.

Oh, I don't think the proving they were outside the Shire is that hard. All we have to do is find the quote by Tom Cotton wherein he talks about how Sharkey or Lotho or whoever was bringing in men as soon as he came to power.
"Things began to get short, and winter coming on, too. Folk got angry, but he [Lotho] had his answer. A lot of Men, ruffians mostly, came with great waggons, some to carry off the goods south-away, and others to stay. And more came. And before we knew where we were they were planted here and there all over the Shire, and were felling trees and digging and building themselves sheds and houses just as they liked." ~ROTK, The Scouring of the Shire, my brackets and emphasis.
Now granted, I didn't emphasize anything, but the thing to point out is of course the "ruffians", since it's the same word, thus the same people, and the fact that they "came".
Look good?

That looks fantastic, both of you! Who's going to send it, and when? Deadline is in a little under 8 hours, I think

I don't mind who sends it, as long as it gets done! Hele or Ducky, do either of you want to do it? I'll check back in an hour or so and if it hasn't gone out then I'll do it, just to be on the safe side.

OK, our answer was spot on, unlike theirs, but it was accepted, so here's the next question:
Who were tied with hunter garments, while almost able to eat something meant to be worn over the head?
Deadline- 1:46pm PT tomorrow; or 9:46pm GMT tomorrow, or 4:46pm Ducky's time tomorrow

Blah, minions got their answer accepted. At least ours was spot on. Next question:
Who were tied with hunter garments, while almost able to eat something meant to be worn over the head?
Deadline: 9:46pm GMT / 1:46PM PT / 4:96PM DT
Hmm.... somebody about to eat their hats? Or hoods? Sounds like something from The Hobbit, perhaps.
