Assuming MT get their acts together and open the match - all they managed in their last match was to post the banner.

Just a note from the HQ- 'Due to RL reasons, Laureel has been forced to leave the Plaza for the time being, leaving MT temporarily without a captain'- so I'm expecting some delays on our match. Also, as some of you may know I've been suffering from painful and almost constant headaches for the past few weeks- I'm trying to get this sorted out but if my contribution to drill is a little sporadic in the next match, you know why. (I forget things more, and it's painful to read.) But good luck with the match- we're totally going to win this one!

I'm sorry to hear that helekwen. I hope you feel better soon. *gives big hug* I'm going to be away for one more day. thanks to my failing internet connection, the elen isn't finished yet, I'm going to do that now. so if the match is opened, please post the banner, even if you're not captain, just explain to the officiant that both our captains are absent at the moment. I will be back tomorrow (hopefully) to start with the match.

Are the captains still all right to post the banner? And I think we have a first on a Fangy member officiating a Fangy match.

Team Hank Question 1: What makes for the longest delays? Team Fangorn Question 1: What did rolling of the drums say?
I think ours is 'short cuts' from when the Sam, Frodo and Pippin are walking across the Shire to Crickhollow. Can't look it up right now because I've got to run out in 5 minutes.

Back in the house and looked up my idea:
Answer: Inns.
"'That settles it!' said Frodo. 'Short cuts make delays, but inns make longer ones. At all costs we must keep you away from the Golden Perch.'" FotR, A Short Cut to Mushrooms
Hmm... does it fit the question neatly enough? I'll keep thinking anyway.

elarith, it lookes great. only it says longest in the question and there is longer in the answer. I'm not sure if that's a big deal but we should keep looking anyway. we still have quite some time right? although I don't have any other ideas right now. short cuts was the first thing that I thought of. maybe it has something to do with saruman who kept advising the white council to do nothing against sauron. I'll look it up.

Yeah, it does say longer but this is coming after Pippin says 'short cuts make long delays' so inns must therefore cause longer than long delays (if that makes sense...). I'll add the earlier bit of quote in:
"'Short cuts make long delays,' argued Pippin. 'The country is rough round here, and there are bogs and all kinds of difficulties down in the Marish - I know the land in these parts.'" (...)
<Frodo's inns quote>
The only other idea I had was one of the Gaffer's sayings or something, like the longest task is the one never started, but that's rather woolly. I'll have a look nonetheless.
As for Fangy's answer, it's pretty obvious - boom, doom - so I doubt we'll get the chance to steal. Alas.
